Food and Recipes
We all know children who are fussy eaters and others who'll eat anything, but do you have a special recipe that never fails with your grandchildren? Or maybe nothing as precise as a recipe but just a menu that appeals? Our two seem to live on pasta and I often make Macaroni Cheese when they visit, but I always slip some peas in with the macaroni so they get a bit of vegetable along with their carbohydrate and cheese.
I also have another favourite ruse for getting them to eat vegetables: I encourage them to help me shell peas and broadbeans. It never fails - even if they do end up eating most fresh rather than cooked!

"I love the idea of adding peas to macaroni. I've got another favourite way of adding vitamins, by grating a courgette into any pasta just after adding the sauce. It adds texture and bulk, but is hardly noticeable!"
